On Saturday, August 31, 2008 Chinese American Relief Effort(CARE) donated school supplies to all students enrolled at Shadydale. This Organization has helped several NFISD schools each year. Their mission is to promote programs, which enhance relationships among ethnic groups.

On September 3, Gorgeous Ladies on Wheels (GLOW) presented a donation for school supplies and uniforms to Shadydale Elementary. They were in uniform and riding on motorcycles. Several members were actually former proud students of Shadydale and the North Forest Independent School District. They are committed to the school district in aiding needs, along with establishing future projects of community services, and volunteerism.

Curriculum, Strategies and Interventions for Reading, Math & Science Night, was held at Shadydale on February 24, 2009. There was fun, food, instructional activities, games and entertainment. Door prizes were given out. Many parents came out to participate.
