Count Down to TAKS |
|
Teachers, starting 10 weeks to TAKS, we will work with the students on every objective before the Math TAKS test on April 8th, 2008 for 5th grade and April 27th, 2008 for grades 3 and 4.
Teachers will be given TAKS countdown sheets every week to go over a TAKS problem during the problem solving time in the 5 Step Math Outline that was provided to the teachers. During that time, I will be looking to see this during my walk-throughs.
5th grade 10 weeks count down starts on January 22nd, 2008. 3rd and 4th grades start on February 11th, 2008. |

Fast on Facts |
|
Teachers, you will test the students in the morning at 8:30 a.m. every Thursday. If you have Open Court, put it in when you can. Remember, it’s only 2 minutes! Please use the copies Mrs. McNeil gave you to start preparing the students for the "RED" fast on fact sheet. Mrs. McNeil will come by each class and pick up the test about 9:00 a.m. and grade them. The students get 3 times to master, those that master will go on to the next level. We will have a display by the cafeteria to keep track of all of this. In April or May, we will have the district-wide Fast on Facts competition at Hillard Elementary School. Three students from each grade-level will represent Lakewood Elementary School at this event.
